The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office most wanted person of the week is:
Maria Guadalupe Montoya of Biola. A judge has issued an arrest warrant for a felony charge of stealing from the elderly.
As part of an investigation launched last year, it was discovered that Maria Montoya had taken money from a 84 year old man who served in the military. Montoya had lived with the man for about six months as she worked as an in-home caretaker for the man’s disabled grandson. A short time after Montoya moved out, the victim realized some of his blank checks were missing and his bank account had less money in it. He contacted the bank to file a report. The bank notified the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and determined Montoya was responsible for stealing more than $5,000 from the elderly gentleman.
Detectives need your help to track down Montoya so they can arrest her.
She is a 34 years old, 5’2”, 150 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair. She has a tattoo of a Chevy symbol on her right hand and on her left hand is a tattoo of the word “faith.”
If you know the location of Maria Montoya, please call Crime Stoppers at 498-7867. All tips remain anonymous and you may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
